The Fight Against Fat Fatties

(By Made4TVMovie)

As I was having a cup of tea with my pops this morning, he threw a little statistic at me that I thought was mind blowing. If we, as Americans, continue to grow and become lazier and uninspired, over 40% of the nation will be obese by the year 2030. To put it plainly, nearly half of the population will be Fat Fatties. Now this is a number based on the amount of people who will be overweight for their age, but as I tried to explain to my dad, that shouldn’t matter.

Side-note: I enjoy fast food as much as the next human being, but I understand when I need to cut myself off from Wendy’s for a few weeks. We all know how good that little red-headed slut can be sometimes. If you don’t believe me, ask TheWayIsHere, because he can back me on the Wendy’s debate from our days in college. But I am not here to defend Wendy, I want to knock some sense into you all thinking about becoming a part of this lazy way of looking at the world.

It is a very upsetting statistic to come to terms with. I do understand that some of you cannot control what your DNA gives you, but for the rest of you this is no excuse. Everyone can spend one short hour a day being healthy. Whether its going for a walk or making your own dinner at night instead of ordering take-out. There are tons of possibilities.

Maybe this is where I am going. How can the greatest nation in the world be so lazy and uninspired?

Is it the fact that we think we’re entitled to everything? Do you think getting in shape is as easy as taking the next weight-loss pill? Newsflash: When you stop taking them, you gain all that weight back and then some! We all think that when we throw out the word American, we get the red carpet treatment. Well this is one of the reasons that the number is so scary – it’s just one more thing we have to work at.

And as we prioritize in 2012, most people think of their health as farther down the list than most other things. I can understand that, but we don’t have to neglect it all together. We should all enjoy and cherish what we look like. The world we are experiencing nowadays is scary and cruel for us 20-somethings, but I can tell you with exercise and a little hard work it WILL help with everything else in your life. I know, in your head and your heart, that you don’t want to be a part of this statistic. If you don’t believe me that’s fine, you’re just booking a one-way ticket to Fat Fatty Land. I don’t want to see the country that I love become a nation full of Marshmallow men and women… think about it, because I know you don’t either.

Nope. One hour of healthiness cuts into my drinking time.

I’m also going to disagree that we shouldn’t be fat and lazy as the greatest country in the world. Being fat and lazy is showing off to the rest of the world that we are the greatest. We don’t gotta do shit.

    Bring on the lard bucket.
